On the anniversary of J Dilla’s death (10th January 2007) Cargo is holding a tribute party featuring a load of DJs dropping their favorite dilla beats. Although I have been listening to hiphop since I was real young I didn’t really know much about him until about this time last year. It was a surprise to learn that he made the beats for so many of the dope albums I listened to when i was growing up. And a even bigger surprise when I found out he had two rad albums I hadn’t even heard.
Yep.. I was under a rock.
